An Italian Christmas Tradition
I think my favorite part of Christmas/the Holidays is remembering all of the amazing traditions that my family has! I believe that we have photo album after photo album filled with images of our family cooking! Sometimes it would be my grandmother or my grandfather teaching us how to make homemade Italian sausage. Now from I, Sara, was little I remember all of the cute little crafts we created for the tables, laughed with family, and everyone was always in the kitchen helping prepare the meal! My grandmother would be the main chef in the kitchen while cooking! Oh my, I can still remember what the house smells like during/after everything was cooked! She would make giant HOMEMADE ravioli with HOMEMADE meat-sauce with HOMEMADE sausage! My grandmother knew how to make everything, plus plate everything on time. I wish I had her skills, but she inspired my mother and I to start taking on the tradition of Italian Christmas Eve! We have been doing it the past few years and we LOVE it. It brings in our family traditions, and you can never have to much pasta, right?! Well, not just pasta, but homemade gnocchi and pasta!
Oh my, homemade gnocchi (potato gnocchi) is my favorite Christmas dinner! We also make homemade fettuccine for the little ones! Now we can’t spoil the secrets of the homemade meat-sauce recipe, but we can give you a little picture show-n-tell of how the process goes!!
What are your Holiday/Christmas traditions? What do you remember doing with your parents or grandparents? We can’t wait to hear all about it!!
