2017  Business Goals

“Comparison isn’t just the thief of joy, it’s the thief of everything. Keep your eyes on your purposeful path. Celebrate others. Celebrate progress, not perfection. Cultivate gratitude over comparison. Gratitude turns what we have into more than enough.” – Lara Casey

Every year we create a new set of goals to accomplish. It is thrilling, it is exciting and you are PUMPED. But, how do you keep that motivating feeling through the rest of the month let only the rest of the year?! We see so many perfectly posed photographs on social media showing their goals/goal setting date. Yet, we feel like ours is a failure because in real life it doesn’t look that picture perfect. Our start to doubt our goals, believing that they aren’t good enough. That our goals aren’t big or perfect to show the world! Our world is in this battle of comparison between one another. We want to tell you that whatever goals you set, they are just right. Why? How would we know? Because you set them to MEET the goal YOU have for YOURSELF. Whether this is business or personal.

Friend, comparison is the thief of EVERYTHING good. It will eat away until you feel that you will never be good enough. Well friend, you ARE good enough! To encourage you to get up and to set those goals, we wanted to show you our top four business goals! Personal goals will be coming to you very soon!

Workflow: There is a lot under this one! Our workflow is one of our greatest and weakest things in our business. In order to flow in our work, we have to create a strong system that uses our time efficiently. When we took a white board to write out EVERYTHING, we realized there was somethings we could change.  We want to free our time time to spend more time doing what we love and using others strengths to cover what we are weaker in. It is okay to say that you need to give this or that to someone else, because they can help you become efficient in what you struggle with. Or maybe, it just takes TOO much time out of your day that you could be better spend on something else.

Our Community: to be real & to serve our community with WELL. (Want to join our mailing list?)

Networking: is a HUGE goal that we have been working on to deepen. We just don’t want to join a group to simply join a group, but we want to help grow and connect with others outside of the wedding industry. To have coffee to talk about life! This will create #communityovercompeition and make even bigger waves! (If you are a wedding creative wanting to grab some coffee with us, please contact us, we have a great little shop that would be perfect!)

Education: is something we never not want to be a goal. This is going to help better ourselves, keep us current, and help us be more creative. Educating ourselves will always help us improve our business to our clients. It encourages us to look at something old in a new way, and to reinforce what we have learned over the years we have been photographing.

Email: Let’s say this together, “Email does not control our lives!” We don’t know about you, but when our email bings, it is SO distracting! That is time wasted on something that could probably wait. This is a huge goal for this year, to not let our email control our time management. To help us manage our email, we will take five to ten minutes every hour to check it and organize it.
