Our 2018 Business Goals Our Business Goals For The Year

Business

January 16, 2018

Michelle and Sara Photography, 2018 goals, goals blog post, blog post about goals, powersheets, 2018 powersheets, nc wedding photographer, nc wedding photography, photography goals, photography blog

I (Michelle) love the beginning of a New Year! It is a time to let the past slowly dim into the background and a new fresh start is beginning to spring. Sara and I believe in setting goals at the rise of a new year, not resolutions, but that’s a blog post for another day!

When setting our goals, we always try to take a second to look back on the year before. Sara and I rejoice in the victories, big and small, that brought us much joy. We let what disappointments we had go and learned from those mistake(s) we made. While looking back, we begin to see how much we have changed over the course of one year. Sara and I begin to see how our story, our journey, and our lives are so different than the year before.

Friendships and mentor-ships have been created, some goals have been accomplished while others lack from it being incomplete, and our story is still being actively written.

Now it’s time to share our 2018 business goals for the year! Sara and I love to use Powersheets by Cultivate What Matters! While they are made to be completely individually, we actually do these actually together (more on this in our next blog post).

Powersheets are not for the faint of heart; they dig deep, ask a lot of questions and make you get to the heart of the matter. They also take some time! BUT if you take the time to do all that they ask of you, the rewards are tremendous. It also is refreshing to see how far we have come in the past year and it builds excitement about where we like to focus on in our new year.

“CULTIVATE”

Our word for 2018 is cultivate. If you walked into our office right this very moment, it is very calming. Pride and Prejudice is playing for the 1000th time, candlelight is flickering and our word of the year is on our Letterfolk board. A gentle reminder of what our year ahead is.

The definition of cultivate is: to prepare and to use. That is where Sara and I are. We want to dig deep, turn the soil, refresh where we are, and plant new seeds. We love that moment, you know, when the seed has just sprouted and is popping through the dirt. That is us. In 2017, we planted and now in 2018, we are cultivating. Something new is stirring within us and we are excited to see where it may lead!

We want to cultivate the relationships we have with our couples and with those in our industry. Sara and I wish to help others with their journey of being an entrepreneur. We hope that we can bless someone else as they we have been blessed.

These are some of our BIGGEST goals that we have ever dreamed about! We’re nervous to share, but here we go:

  1. Blog & Newsletter: Educational Resources
  2. Weddings & Mini Sessions
  3. Education for us (M&S)
  4. Podcast/Vlogging/Speaking
  5. Networking
  6. Bucket list of our travels: USA: Charleston, Chicago, Vermont, Big Sir California, Seattle Washington. Countries: Ireland/England/Scotland, Greece, and oh please back to Italy again!

What are some of the goals you would like to reach this year? Is there something we can write or speak about that will help you in achieving those? We love to help and cheer you on, so leave a message below or email us and we will support you in your goal!
