Michelle and I were recently talking about what we could write for our upcoming posts. Since we were considering writing one post, I came across another post I wrote back in 2016. Two years ago, in June, I wrote a blog post sharing my thoughts about how to have a balanced life. This was considering having a healthy and balanced personal to business life. You can always read that post here, but honestly reading back on it – it didn’t cover it all. Today, I want to fix that!

First, we have a question for you! Is having a healthy work-life balance difficult for you to maintain? Do you struggle to walk away from the computer/desk/workshop/work station? When you actually do walk away, do you struggle to find rest? Do you sometimes question what rest really looks or feels like?

If those questions kept ending with you saying “YES!,” we want to tell you that you are not alone in feeling like you do! Finding a healthy work-life balance can be difficult no matter what “level” you’re in. However, every small business owner or creative has felt the struggle, but there is hope! There is hope for you and we are going to share THREE easy tips that you can start to find that balance today! These are three tips we use single day so they are fully M&S approved!

Such a simple, but powerful step for finding balance. Sadly, your schedule will not magically put in time for yourself, so you have to do that! If you are a morning person, schedule yourself an extra hour of quiet time. If you’re a night owl, schedule out time to enjoy a glass a your favorite drink and an episode of TV!

While always planning in advance kind of ruins the “spontaneous lunch/dinner date vibe,” it does leave you time to plan all of your work events accordingly! That way you’re not running around over stressed!

Rest is general word we all use, but what does that word mean to you? Does it mean having quiet time? Does it mean doing a hardcore yoga session? Does it mean sitting on the couch wearing comfy clothes and eating delicious food? Define what your version of rest is and then schedule it! Write out what you want to do so that you can achieve that work-life balance you deserve!
