Holiday Preparation Tips! FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

November 20, 2018

holiday preparation tips with a kitchen aid mixer in the background

Michelle and I were just sharing on Instagram about this a week ago, but how in the world can it already be November?! It feels like this year has just gone by in the blink of an eye!

We bet that you just thinking the same thought! It’s crazy to think that Thanksgiving is right here (literally right here!) than Christmas – ahh!!

It actually sorts of funny how this blog post came to be. What we’re going to share was only for our Bridal Newsletter gals, but let’s just say they LOVED it! So much so that we felt these tips couldn’t be kept away!

We’ve talked about it on the M&S Bridal newsletter (if you want in on the M&S Business Newsletter, click here!) before, but when you’re getting married (or already living in that blissful state of already married) the holidays can add a lot of un-needed stress for some. In the last few emails, we talked about planning a wedding while enjoying the holidays, but what if you’re already married and planning to host your first Thanksgiving?

Don’t fret – I’ve been there!! Stressing over making sure everything is perfect and trying not to cry in the process is hard! Girl, don’t you worry, I got your back!

After hosting my first Thanksgiving (getting ready for my second) and many Christmas’ at my house – I have learned a thing or two about hosting and wanted to share them with you!

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Seriously, this will save you the most stress, keep everything as simple as possible! From the food to decor to cleaning, do what is important and don’t overdo it – you’ll be grateful for it later!

DON’T HAVE EVERYONE BRING SOMETHING

Just select a few people to bring select items you need. I have my brother bring the wine and then have Michelle bring dessert and rolls – it just helps enough but doesn’t overwhelm the table with unnecessary plates!

ACCEPT THE OFFER OF HELP

I would suggest this tip with a clause, however, don’t accept everyone’s help! Just accept those offers when you can fully trust them to accomplish the task that way you’re not trying to multitask with something you can’t really multitask with!

BE FLEXIBLE

Somethings just instantly change that is out of your control! One, know that it is okay to just go with the roll, no pun intended, and two, that everything works out perfectly in the end!

Have you ever hosted Thanksgiving? If so, comment below and tell us how it went!! Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Comment below and tell us the one thing that you’re excited for!
