After photographing over 100 weddings in the past twelve years (almost thirteen years), I (Michelle) have seen a lot of wedding trends that have come and gone. However, some of our couples have broken that mold and wanted to add that unique element to their wedding! After gathering these ideas, we thought it would be fun to just sit down and give you this article.
Because we have SO many amazing couples, we have only chosen a select few to share with you today, but feel free to click here to search for our other weddings! Now onto the unique elements!
While we are going to start with the grand exit first, we think it’s an amazing way to jump into this topic. Grand exits are a fun way to close out the night, have your guest cheer you off, and you always get amazing photographs of it too! While sparklers are the go-to choice, there are many other options that you can pick- whether you want something different or because of your venue’s rules! The two favorite grand exits we’ve seen that we’ve LOVED is Johnna and Brennan’s Mardi Gras themed ribbon flags and John and Maddie’s glow stick exit!
When it comes to gifts for your bridal party, the bride always seems to have her ladies covered, but the groom may have a harder time with this! We love it when we see our grooms love on his gents! The biggest way to not only gift the gentlemen something but also have the gifts be useful – gift them socks!
Aside from grand exits and gifts, you can add a fun element into your photographs that reflects something that you two both love! For Brittany and Jared, they added in Jones Soda bottles into different photographs in their day!
Instead of having smaller elements you may prefer to have one large element to be the center of attention. But something that will add character to your day! For Sarah, she wanted to add a vintage lounge piece to her day to give the day the extra chic look that she wanted! And oh goodness, did it deliver!
Our last idea for elements that you can add is a blending of many colors and heritages together! With your wedding, you can have the chance to choose your wedding day colors and themes. And honestly, you can choose not to have one per-say! With Moyin and Chunan’s wedding, they wanted to blend multiple colors together and it blew us away! She not only blended colors perfectly, but she blended the two heritages (along with traditional wedding items) together for an elegant day.
We recently just received a few heartfelt reviews from our couples and we love sharing with you what they had to say about their experience! Check it out here!
