A Chic & Industrial Saxapahaw Engagement Session

It all began with a Skype call from Mebane, North Carolina to New York, New York. Sara and I were nervous as we called Sarah and John, the cutest couple, popped up on the screen. We said our introductions, asked how their day was going, and just couldn’t stop ourselves from saying how adorable they were. This past Monday we were able to give Sarah and John the biggest hugs before we began to photograph their engagement session!

Sarah’s aunt and uncle and John’s parents have been best friends for a very long time. Sarah even said that they probably had been in each others lives way before they dated which included a cat calendar! Yes, you read that right. John’s parents dressed up their cat for every holiday and created a cat calendar which hung up on Sarah’s wall.

Fast forward to when their family introduced Sarah and John to each other! Sarah was coming back from New York and John wanted to take her to a very nice place. While it wasn’t considered their first date, John wanted to take her to a really nice location for dinner. The Eddy, in Saxapahaw, was the perfect location. They sat out on the terrace, taking in the beautiful view of the river, and enjoying the night away with each other. A few weeks later, John showed up in New York and didn’t look back! You could say the rest is history!

John loves to walk around New York City taking photographs of the different types of architecture. That is just another reason why Sarah and John choose to have their engagement session at Saxapahaw! The Eddy was where they had their first date, the architectural design of the Rivermill Lofts provided crisp brick backdrops, and the Hallriver Ballroom gave us a little contrast with their wild floral bushes.

Sara and I just cannot explain how much we adore these two and we cannot wait for their 2018 wedding! Sarah and John, enjoy just a little sneak peak into the gorgeousness that awaits you!
