Welcome back, bride-to-be! It’s been a little bit since we’ve shared a new article on the Educated Bride series, but we’re back! We’ve been off on vacation (Chicago then Ireland) and now we’re both in the office creating new content for you!
Something that our couples ask us is, “can we bring our pet or pets to our engagement session?” And the answer is YES, of course, you can! But, we have a few tips we’ve given to our couples that we want to share with you!
ONE: Arrive at the engagement session location early!
We have seen such a difference in a pet if you arrive early, let’ them smell around, and get a few minutes with us before the cameras go up. Plus, it’s a new place with new people so they bound to be a little more than just a little excited!
TWO: Items to bring with you: a collar and a leash, water, potty bags, and their favorite toy/treat!
These items are essential for different parts throughout the whole session. Even if you don’t use one of them, you’ll be happier to just have it them not at all and need it! You could also coordinate their collar and/or leash with your outfits!
THREE: Have someone come with you to be responsible for the care of the pet while they’re not in.
This might seem hard to bring someone else with your session, but it’s so helpful when you do with your pet! They handle your pet(s) so that we are able to move the pets in and out of the photographs. You don’t have to worry about them not being watched or given water (if it’s hot outside).
FOUR: Don’t forget the cute dog accessories, were bow ties, bandanas or a cute bow!
Are you recently engaged? Congratulations! Are you looking for a wedding photographer? Send us an email and let’s chat!
