A Gorgeous Winter St. Thomas Preservation Hall Wedding Leslie & Drew

Wedding

February 27, 2020

Lesley and Drew’s gorgeous winter St. Thomas Preservation Hall Wedding was one fabulous day that truly is hard to describe! First, the weather didn’t feel like winter, but that of spring! 60 degrees with not a cloud in the sky which is perfect after getting between 2-4 inches of snow several days before. You know what they say about rain being a blessing on your wedding day, we say that snow is twice that! Not only was the weather gorgeous, but the location of being in the heart of downtown Wilmington was a perfect background for this beautiful wedding!

There are so many things that we adore about these two, but the biggest thing is their hearts for each other and their families. Lesley and Drew truly wanted their family to be a part of their story, even starting back before their engagement session! Lesley wore Drew’s grandmother wedding ring, they had handmade quilts lining their ceremony space, along with the American flag Drew received from his second deployment. During the ceremony, before Lesley entered, they even had a moment of silence to remember and give thanks to those who have served or are currently serving our amazing country. It was also so sweet to see two tables filled with so many photographs – old and new. Those of who no longer with them, baby photographs of each of them, to having some from their fun engagement session! To see the new and old photographs mingled together showcasing their family legacy now intertwined together.

The love for their family continued as Lesley danced with both her father, Frank, and step-father, Dave, during her father/daughter dance. They kept their bridal party filled to the brim with family members – those who love them both and we’re excited to celebrate them! It was also so sweet because five years ago we photographed Lesley’s sister, Megan, and brother-in-law’s, Chas’, wedding! To see Lesley, Megan, and their wonderful family again felt like we didn’t even skip a beat with each other.

Saint Thomas Preservation Hall, as we said before, is in the heart of downtown Wilmington which is just so beautiful! And you can see the riverfront right off of the preservation hall steps which we couldn’t resist taking L&D too! Oh my – they completed rocked it out and it did not disappoint! If we could have stayed there for an hour photographing, we would have, but they had guests to celebrate with. So after eating, dancing, and mingling with their family and friends, we did a little exit filled with American flags to wave them off into their new married life!

Lesley and Drew, we truly cannot thank you enough for inviting us in to be a part of your incredibly beautiful wedding day! We hope you enjoy just this tiny sneak peek into your day!
