I'm an optimistic, passionate Italian from Chicago. My husband, Joe, and I are empty nesters—well sort of; we have three rescued senior pups along with a cat that we love. In 2016, I fulfilled my life-long dream of traveling to Italy and reconnecting with my parents' family! Hopefully, this coming year we can head back to Chicago (with the newest addition to the family!) to visit with even more family and enjoy incredible food! I enjoy dreaming up new ideas, planning far off adventures and writing it all down with pretty pens and paper. You can always find me reading a good book or having the family over for a big, fun, Italian dinner!

We have a darling kitty named Cali—Calibear to us. My style in photography mirrors my own personal style. I tend towards neutrals and bright, airy aesthetics. I love spending quality time at local coffee shops, fellowshipping with dear friends, and hosting holiday dinners for my lovely family.

I am a petite, energetic, Italian gal that adores reading while sunbathing on the beach, snacking on freshly peeled oranges, and dreaming up the next big adventure to take with my husband, Jake! After celebrating our seventh wedding anniversary in May, we started to embark on our second biggest journey, parenthood! Our Theodore Henry arrived in March (2020) and we could not be more in love! Jake and I also have a darling kitty named Cali—Calibear to us. I love spending quality time at local coffee shops, fellowshipping with dear friends, and hosting Italian-styled dinners for my lovely family and friends!

At the start of 2012, I (Michelle) was in pursuit of an associate photographer. I had dreams of a family-based business and asked Sara multiple times to join me. Sara had dreams of going into film school to be an editor. After her final no, I accepted I would be a solo photographer. Fast forward to the middle of 2012, right as Sara was about to graduate from Community College; she surprised us all!
"...Yes," Sara said, "I'll join you!" I couldn't catch my breath fast enough!
She then switched career paths (and her major) and the journey to
Michelle & Sara Photography began!
Nine years later, we are still embracing our uniqueness in being a two-lead photography team! We are able to do life and business together - which we cherish and find to be such a blessing. We photograph memories + go grocery shopping together, have almost identical wardrobes, and dream big for each other everyday.
the story of
As photographers, our primary desire is to capture the most memorable times of your life. From the start of your relationship to twirling around that sweet little babe in your arms. Life always go way too quickly and you want those moments, moments, and your legacy frozen in time. The beautiful thing about a two lead photography team is that we can capture all of those moments that you see and some that you do not see.
One photographs while the other pays attention to the little details that others may forgo. The hair out of place, the outfit needing fixing, or even directing to make you feel at your most comfortable while in front of the camera. Those precious moments will be perfectly captured in your photographs for many generations to come. We can't wait to preserve these memories and serve you during just one of the most incredible seasons of life!
