Cooking With, Silvia and Malfada, Our Family | Senigallia, Italy
Italian words filling the air, graceful hands working on a meal to be shared by all, and so much genuine love felt. We really hope that smellavision starts ASAP because we wish you could smell this amazing homemade Lasagna. It was beautiful to watch Silvia and Malfada, mother and daughter, work together. Mixing, blending, sprinkling and melding together to cook these beautiful flavors together. One of the things we ALL wanted to do when we were in Italy was to cook with the family. Malfada was so gracious to invite us all to into her home, just a few days after Silvia’s wedding, to cook with her. It was such an experience to see how beautiful and genuine Italian cooking truly is! The Ragu was made the day before so that it was ready for our cooking lesson.
It was delightful to help set a table and feel the breeze coming through the widow as we all sat down to eat. One thing about an Italian meal, it is a gathering! A place to savor the food and the moments you are having with dear family. We all laughed, drank and ate until we couldn’t anymore. The second dish, yes 2nd, was an amazing pork tenderloin was served with a light an airy crusty Italian bread. Oh, no meal is ever complete in Italy until you have dessert and limecello! We walked away beyond filled with happiness!!
Thank you to our beautiful family in Italy, you opened your arms and hearts and we love you!
Look at this BEAUTIFUL table she designed for us! My grandparents (whom I am pointing to) before they came over to America!
We celebrated our last FULL day in Senigallia with our family by being by the most amazing people! This family dinner stretched way past the sun had set. Our hearts, our minds, and our souls were filled with SO much love, words cannot being to describe it. Cheers to family, to dear ones we shall see again, and to celebrating the beautiful life we live!
