North Carolina is known for having odd winter weather. There is a joke that goes around, our winter starts in January but the snow doesn’t come usually until February or March! This time the snow wanted to share more love by starting early. Our first wedding of 2017 started off with an amazing couple in the middle of Snow Storm Helena. It has been YEARS since we have seen snow reach 8 inches and that is just pure snow!
Even with all of the snow, our bride and groom, Amy and Jonathan are just spectacular!! We LOVED photographing them during their spring engagement session, and now their winter wonderland wedding! The day began with greeting the ladies at their getting ready location at the Proximity Hotel. What Sara and I love about Amy was that she was so calming and ready to go! She relaxed with her ladies, watched a movie, and they created the cutest hashtag for their wedding! #snopestorm2017 Sara was able to have a few minutes to photograph Amy in all of her gorgeousness in the Proximity!
On the way to the church from the Proximity Hotel, the clouds parted to bring in the shinning sun! The sun shinning down that made the snow just shimmer in the light! It was such a blessing because we were able to take them outside to take photographs in the snow! It was too cute when the girls lifted their dresses to show their winter boots. They came prepared! Amy and Jonathan decided to gift their bridal party with initialed shawls (ladies) and scarfs (men), which was the sweetest!
Amy and Jonathan had a candle light church ceremony that held their closest friends and family members. Some of Amy’s younger students from her dance classes came to see her become a princess! Their little faces lit up so brightly when they saw Amy walking down the isle towards her prince! The reception held at Sedgefield Country Club was STUNNING. The building has the prettiest architecture along with a stunning stairwell that we couldn’t resist taking our couple too! Along with having a romantic candle light ceremony, Amy and Jonathan have a special love for their favorite board games. So at the reception each table had a different board game that they loved! From Apples to Apples to Jenga!
Even with the evening ending up to be a total of 12 degrees outside, Amy and Jonathan never complained when we asked them for a late night-night time shot! We are so thankful that this sweet couple isn’t just an MRP couple, but dear friends!
