GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME
On your wedding day, allow more time that you think you will need for getting ready! By allowing yourself more time than you think you will not be rushed and will enjoy your day!
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR MOM & BRIDESMAIDS
Having clear communication with those who will be with you in the morning of is so important! While your hair and makeup are being finished up, have all of your bridesmaids (including Maid of Honor & Mother of the Bride) get all dressed! Then by the time you are ready to be dressed, everyone else will be ready to help you finish the final details!
HAVE YOUR FLOWERS DELIVERED TO YOU DIRECTLY
Have all of your flowers delivered to the location where your photographs will be taken at! This way you won’t have to worry about having someone pick them up and something pretty will brighten up the room while you finish your final touches!
MAKE SURE TO HAVE PLENTY OF SNACKS BEFORE
We know that you will have butterflies in your stomach, but remember to eat something! At Sara’s wedding, we had a large fruit platters with some small bagels to give a variety of foods. Once you get to your wedding dress, you won’t want to eat until the reception…which is quite a long time to wait! If you eat just a little snack, such as fruit, cheese or crackers, they will help you keep your energy up! Oh, don’t forget the water as well!
ENCOURAGE YOUR GROOM TO PAMPER HIMSELF
We typically know that mostly Brides-to-be read out blogs, so encourage your groom to give himself a little love on the morning of! Taking a hot shower, really slowing down, and creating a nice morning of things that help you relax!
PREPARE EVERYTHING THE FEW DAYS LEADING UP
Create a “bin” for each of you (or your Maid of Honor/Best Man) to be responsible for filled with important items! This includes items like your shoes, bridal details, groom’s tie, and shoes! Grooms can have important pieces of jewelry that they may want to wear! These can be handed down through generations which include cuff-links, tie clips, special family ring or a wristwatch. However, prep these bins in the week(s) leading up to the day! Don’t save it for the night before because you want to have that day to celebrate at the dress rehearsal!
DRINK *A LOT * OF WATER
Your wedding day is a day of celebration, love and the commitment being made, but remember to save the hard-core celebration of drinks to a minimum before! If you drink too much the night before or the morning of the wedding, it could affect you later on! Stick to drinking a lot of sparkling water before then celebrate once you hit the reception!
CREATE YOURSELF A PLAYLIST OR TWO
When you’re creating a carefree morning, you want to have some sort of music playing in the background to create a vibe! For when Sara was getting married, she created two! One was soothing, light music and the other was upbeat, jam-worthy music! Having both created and easily accessible is perfect for creating a light, carefree wedding day morning!
PRACTICE, BUT DON’T WORRY
During some ceremony’s, couples add a sand ceremony/knot ceremony to their wedding day. To have one thing checked off before the morning of, remember to practice any knots or ties before! This will make for a smoother process when it comes to finishing up those small touches, but also don’t worry. Don’t push yourself to have it run perfectly smooth, just be yourselves and enjoy the moments!
REST, REST & REST
Remember to get lots of rest!! Your wedding day will happen quickly! You want to feel rested for your big day!
