Happy New Year & Let’s Chat 2020 Goals! Business

Business

January 9, 2020

Well, another year has gone and a new year has come! Or should we say a new DECADE has arrived! Say WHAT?! It is crazy to think that we are entering into a new decade. Wow. While we have already done a Business & Personal 2019 in review (you can read it here!), we wanted to chat about goals and where are hearts are entering into 2020.

Not as a shocker to those avid blog readers, Instagram or Facebook followers – you will know that Sara’s little babe is due at the end of March! So when thinking about 2020, we have a lot to consider and even restructure how we think about the year because of this fact. Now it’s true that we are both planners – we love being prepared and thinking ahead! One, that’s sorta in our job description and two it just makes us feel ready for whatever the task may be. It is the same way when it comes to our goals.

For goal planning, we really do love some Powersheets from Cultivate What Matters. Not an ad, not sponsored, but it is just honestly true. However, something that we did differently this year is that we used our Powersheets separately first. We took our one set of Powersheets, copied the pages for each of us to have a copy, and worked on it within a timeframe. Now let us say that this was a game CHANGER. The pages were filled with truly reflected in our hearts and minds. We felt the freedom to just write whatever we wanted, even if it may not make sense to anyone else. While we do use the power sheets for business goals (with personal ones in there too), there is a lot of personal things to dig through first.

Then, after chatting with our Mastermind group about our goal ideas, we wrote down our top three to four business goals for the year. We, again, printed off copies of the Powersheet goal-breakdown pages and worked on it separately. Let’s just say that this was SO good. It was wonderful as we each thought of different aspects the other didn’t. Then the Friday after Christmas, we got together in the morning to chat through all of our hard work.

The best part? We were able to actually talk about the important things and not just the fluffy stuff above it. We worked through that fluffy stuff alone so that when we came together we could get down to it! Wow oh wow, we know that was an intro, but if you have a team/partnership business – you have to try it!

Now, on to the stuff you’ve been waiting for, our 2020 goals! First up, our 2020 word of the year is:

TRANSFORM

“make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance, or character of.”

Not only is Sara about to face one of the biggest transformations of her life, but as a business, we are transforming into something greater. No, this doesn’t mean we’re stopping wedding photography – just the opposite! We’re expanding some of our offers…

Our four goals for 2020 are very simple. We are keeping it that way to one, not be complicated, and two because Sara’s life is about to change and we want her to have that flexibility and freedom during the initial months. Here are our four goals for 2020!

ONE: Lifestyle Sessions

TWO: Branding Experience 2.0

THREE: M&S Shop

FOUR: Podcast

Now as we dive deep into working on these goals before the little one gets here, let us know below or on Instagram what are some of your goals for 2020!
