2017 Goal Preparations & Thankfulness!

Personal

January 3, 2017

After a week and a half of a blogging break, it is odd to be sitting here writing to you. My fingers reach for the familiar keys are my thoughts begin to pour out onto the page. Oh how simple it all seems, at the end of it. This is officially our 2 year of full time blogging and it is incredible to see how just a small break refreshes you. It feels that you finally have that drive and push to write even if in the end no one would read any of it.

This past week Michelle and I have tackled a lot of goal setting preparations along with cleaning out the clutter in our houses. Jake and I are approaching that one year anniversary of purchasing our home. ONE year later, I would never have imaged all of the clutter still in our home! So I took to action while we were on break to focus on what truly was important. While Michelle and I aren’t quite finished yet, we are much further along than we thought we would be! We might even share a blog post about some of the projects we have done!

As we begin our 2017 journey, we wanted to say thank you for everyone. A thank you for our couples, to our families, to our readers, and to our wedding colleagues for just being the most amazing people. Giving all the praise and glory to God, who gave us this amazing ability to serve others with our talents He gave us.

The 2017 goal preparation has begun and we are truly trying to focus on being INTENTIONAL. Our word we wanted to focus on is “intentional” for multiple reasons … which is something we will get into at a later blog! For now, we wanted to give you these few tips on how to prepare for your yearly goal(s) to make sure you’re on the BEST track for you personally and your business!

  1. Invest in a goal setting product!  This doesn’t have to be expensive or even cost anything, but it must help you track your goals! A visual tracker so that when you’re hitting July, you aren’t confused about what goals you wanted to achieve. For us, we use POWERSHEETS. This is our second using them and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them again!
  2. Take your time! These is nothing in this world that is pushing you to have your goals all marked and set by Jan 1st! This is something that shouldn’t be rushed or pushed by anyone or even yourself.
  3. While taking your time, break down everything! Michelle and I like to take each goal setting time to break down ever single thing! From our workflows, to our client gifts, to our social media accounts! This truly helps figure out what needs to be changed for your year to best the most functional!

These three simple tips helps us make progress in our goals not feeling like we have to reach for that standard of perfection!
