Michelle and I have been really working on our workflows this month from our bridal workflow to our office workflow. Now we wanted to share the changes we have made that have impacted our business in just these few weeks!
Mark a day for you to take the time to do x, y, z!
We take every Friday for just 2-3 hours to take the time to clean the office, check our files, clean up our emails/desktop, to evaluate our calendars and our numbers, and to regroup for the next week. We have a folder on our Desktop to have quick and easy access to these workflow sheets.
Set a priority!
For us, our priority is to clean our office/desktop/emails up. Why? Because it sets us up for a weekend not to worry over our emails and to set us up for the next week. This has been a game changer for us as by doing this it allows our desk to be clear when we walk in on Monday morning. Who doesn’t love walking in on Monday’s with a clean desk!?!
Business Owner: always check your stats!
It is really important to understand your numbers on your website and social media anaylitics. It is also important to make note of what your followers love to hear about! This is a great way to then produce content for your blog, newsletter, and social media!
Check your calendar! If you have a partner, calendar check with them!
This is something that has really improved our communication as well as planning for future events and it has helped SO much. Just match planners, communicate your schedules and time off, then there will be no miscommunications. We double check our calendars at least once a week. Checking your calendar will also help you begin to prepare for what you need to set in your to-do as a priority for the following week!
Trello!
We love Trello! Trello helps us keep track of our blog and newsletter ideas. By making a board in Trello, we can create a card within that board with each idea we have. With each card, we can make notes about the idea we have. This helps when we sit down to brainstorm ideas, then when it is time to write a blog post we just look at our blog board to see what is up next. We work on this at least every Friday to make sure we are creating content and keeping a good track of what needs to be worked on or set up for the following week!
Timer!
When working on a task, we set a timer for x number of minutes and get working. You wouldn’t believe how much more we get done by just focusing that time to that task!
Morning meetings!
Every day we start our morning by discussing what we each have to do and how we can help one another with the task we each have at hand. This simple step has our days running more smoothly and focused!
