CALLING ALL B-MAIDS

How To Series: Bridesmaids Tasks & How They Can Help The Bride

Calling all of my lovely ladies who have been asked to be a maid of honor or a bridesmaids to their friends upcoming wedding!! We are so glad you stop by, because today we want to talk to you! Most ladies wonder what all of their duties are when they hold the title of Bridesmaid or MOH…and of course how can you not search about anything on Pinterest! Yet, Pinterest can get cluttered up with beautiful photographs of a bride with her ladies and a WHOLE lot of tips. It honestly was a lot for me to look through when I typed in multiple searches such as “bridesmaid duties,” “how to be a bridesmaids to your bride,” and “how can a bridesmaids help on a wedding day!” Each search came up with something different and a little confusing from one post to the next.

Who is considered to be a bridesmaid? These ladies are specially picked by the bride to stand beside of her as she marries her soon-to-be husband!! That is one of the easiest parts of the day, trust us! Typically these ladies chosen are the closest friends (family or future family) to the bride! It is an honor to be chosen as a bridesmaid and the excitement is indescribable!!  However, a lot of bridesmaids are unaware of everything that comes along with the title! That is why we wants to share with you some of the most helpful tips we have seen from our mrp bridesmaids along with experiencing it! Are you ready?? Let’s go!

Planning Duties: Most of the time, bridesmaids, as a group, are to plan the baccalaureate party! You can make it as simple as one big last sleepover or having a dinner out! Just make sure if your Bride does have any requests, they are listened too! Also along with helping the MOH/brides family with planning the bridal shower!

Be Proactive: Always ask if you can help the bride out with anything! We know a lot of the time when you ask a bride to help, there isn’t a lot you can do…but it is the thought that counts in this! It is showing your love and excitement to the bride!

Lend An Ear: As a Bridesmaid, you might have to let your bride spout off some steam if she is stressed or worried or even sick about the wedding!

Be There: be supportive, encouraging, honest, and real with her! Maybe at that moment it might be hard, but being there for her will mean the world to her!

Try and Break Everything In: Most bridesmaids don’t do this and it causes a lot of issues, break in those new shoes you haven’t tried on yet! It is going to be a long day and you need wear them down so you will feel comfortable standing in them all day!

The Wedding Day!!

Keep the Bride on time: You don’t want to over-push her, but you want to be ready so that you can help her with anything to keep her happy and on time!

Keep the Energy going, happy and positive: She is going to be so nervous, playing around and keeping the air light and happy is the best thing for her!

Be Prepared: you have a lot to help her with from helping her with hair and makeup, putting her in her dress, to photographs, to walking down the aisle! Be prepared and ready!

These few things will help the bride, and you, have a relaxing enjoyable day!! You get to see one of your best friends get married, its time to celebrate!!!

Last but not least: Purpose over Perfection! You don’t have to do everything right or to perfection! Be real, be you, be there in the moment with your bride, and laugh!
