Cheers, It’s Our Anniversary Week! | Personal
This week, we have waited for you since last year!! The end of May is our FAVORITE time of the year!! Why? Well, we will tell you in a few words: IT’S OUR ANNIVERSARY WEEK. Yay! For the past two years, Sara and Jake have spent their honeymoon and first Anniversary at the beach while Michelle and Joe celebrated locally. Yet, this year….Michelle is going away with Joe while Sara and Jake stay home to celebrate!
We remember those moments leading up to your wedding day. Every anniversary, Sara and I talk about all the love we still feel (and even more so) then the love we felt on our wedding day! We adore talking about love on this blog, because we photograph love stories that have been molded and shaped over time. We understand, relate, and remember how it feels when you and your loved one is ready to say I DO. Each and every anniversary reminds us of this feeling. Love defines every stage of our lives in a marriage, every anniversary is a celebration of the year of hard work and unconditional love we desire to give!
At our last wedding (click here if you haven’t seen it!), the grandparents of the couple had been married for 60 years coming up this year! I asked her what the secret was to their success, she paused as she thought. A second later, “have the same values, listen to each other, grow in life together.” It was just beautiful to see how in 60 years, genuine love can overcome hardships. To remember that through those hardships, you are each others best friend.
It is hard to believe that it was two years ago that Sara’s dad walked her down the grassy path to the Old Willow tree (where her dad and her planted when she was a little girl) in our backyard, where her future husband stood waiting for her. I still get teary eyed thinking about it, so much love surround these two. This Wednesday will mark Jake and Sara’s second wedding anniversary!! What a wonderful, joyous, blessed time it has been for them.
Just two days later, Joe and I will celebrate our wedding anniversary. Yes, Sara put her wedding date two days before mine, too funny!! Joe and I are going to celebrate our day spending the day together watching the Chicago Cubs game and then end the evening with dinner out with some dear friends of ours.
During this week, Sara and I will still be slightly active on our social media account, but we want to recharge and enjoy the week with our amazing husbands! The bosses are taking off the rest of the week! We will have a blog post this Thursday but we will be fully out of the office!
So how do you celebrate your special day with the one you love? We would love to hear about it so leave us a comment below! We wish you and the ones you love a very happy and fun Memorial Day Weekend!
