Happy Mother’s Day + The Best Gifts To Give
Its about showing mom a little love by making something from the heart! You don’t have to have lots of money to spend, but some of the greatest treasures are the special little creations you create for your mom!
Mother’s Day is fast approaching and we bet that you are wondering what to get your mom! Trust me, I was in the same boat for a long time! I wondered if buying something for mother’s day would be the best…even with a sweet card! Michelle said it best: My favorite Mother’s Day gifts from my children are endearing gifts they made me! They are gifts that I have loved year after year. It took a little imagination, time, and work from Sara and Matthew, but these gifts will always keep me smiling from ear to ear! For those of you who are struggling to figure out a gift idea for your Mom…maybe something from the heart is best!! Here are just a few ideas I have gotten in hopes to give you a few ideas for the perfect handcrafted Mother’s Day gift!
When Sara was very young, she made me this pretty jar year’s ago and entitled it “My Favorite Memories!” She wrote lots of beautiful notes and would put them in this jar! I love looking at this and remember her favorite moments of us together. Every year you could slip a new one in jar to surprise your mom (Sara does!)
In High School, during art class, Matthew painted me two canvas’s that to this day I still adore!
A few gifts that are not shown: Sara made me the cutest little hearts about 8 years ago and they still hang from my viewfinder in my car! Matthew got a film strip picture hanger and put a few of my favorite images in them from when he was a baby, a few at the blood drives he held and a time when we photographed together!
One last gift both Sara and Matthew have done is too give me cute little homemade books that told me they would clean the kitchen, watch a movie or have a game night with me. Nothing better than a bowl of popcorn to share with your child and watch a movie. Can’t tell you how many times we played monopoly!
One thing that I have truly loved year after year… those mother day’s cards with the sweetest wording ever! You know Hallmark knows what they are doing, because this mom loves a card. Whether it is bought or handmade it is about what you write in the card, note or piece of paper that will touch your mother’s heart!
For us, Mother’s Day, is about a celebration! It is a celebration of motherhood with those in our families! Whether that is your mom, step-mother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and so on! Whoever is your mother, we celebrate their love and devotion to YOU and shower them with love and gratitude!
To Matthew and Sara, I am a mother who’s heart is over flowing! Thank you for so many wonderful memories, that has me writing this post in tears. Oh and a new note would make my day 😀
To Mom, thank you for being a wonderful mother who taught me the important of chasing a beautiful passion of photography and helping me look at the world with creativity! You’re the best!
