Michelle Robinson Photography Blogiversary Celebration!
Happy One Blogiversary! (…is Blogiversary actually a word? We hope so, haha! 🙂 We DID it! We have blogged for one WHOLE year consistently!! Twice a week for 52 weeks! That means we have blogged 104 posts about engagements, bridals, weddings, how to’s and so much more. For Sara and I, it was important to make a decision to start blogging! But that once we made the commitment to blogging that we succeed at it on the days we promise to post. We are SO excited that this is just the first year of the many blogiversary’s we will have to come! To not just make this just a little celebration of our blog, we wanted to make it a little helpful for those wanting to start a blog!! Do you want to know more about how we constantly blog twice a week for a whole year without being burnt out?! Keep reading!!!
At the beginning of each month, we have a monthly meeting! In that meeting, we complete our #powersheets and our blogging calendar! What one earth is a blogging calendar? It is little post is notes on your regular calendar stating what that post is about! We typically like to do two months in advance to have plenty of ideas, even though we know it will change! There is a lot of brainstorming (a little hair pulling too) about what to blog about. One thing we have learned the hard way, is don’t mark it in your calendar, instead Sara started to use post it notes tabs. This allows us to move post around when we need to our to transfer them to another month easily! You can use whatever color you like! We like to switch up the color each month, for added fun!
When we first started blogging weddings we would only put 10 of our favorite images of the day along with the post. Now we put A LOT more of our favorite photographs of the wedding day in the post. We LOVE showing images of our couple, their day and telling you, our readers, about their gorgeous day!
Sara (Social Media Guru) has got us a system that works so well for us, starting with an early morning post of our blog. We post on Facebook as well as tagging our clients in our post. Then she sets up posts for Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest! This may seem easy, but it can be time consuming! Finding little apps or extra websites can help make this process easier! Programs like Later and Tweetdeck makes posting a bit easier!
We LOVE reading the comments, seeing the likes and hearts we get on our photographs, makes us so happy!! We really do read and try to respond to all comments! We must give shout out to one of our beloved brides and biggest fans KATE who writes something on every single post on Facebook! You rock, Kate!!
Lastly, consistency, that is the one of the most important aspects of blogging!! Making a commitment and sticking to it! Is it all worth it, you bet!
A gigantic THANK YOU to all of the amazing readers who come back to read each week!! We do this for you lovely gals and guys!
