Our “Why” | Business & Personal

We thank you for coming back to our blog week after week, which is beyond amazing to us. We love this time that we get to have with you. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life we wanted to take a second to tell you the “why.”  In the first round of the #theheartfeltgrid, Michelle and I shared our “why” behind the business. The why do we get up each and every morning to do this. Why do we never lose passion for this job. Our why of beginning this crazy adventure together in 2012.

To answer the “why,” let’s take a jump back in time! Michelle began taking photographs for the local newspaper while writing the stories for it. I (Sara) remember being in a lot of those photographs! With every story that she wrote the photographs became something completely different than just “a photograph.” They grew to hold a deeper and richer meaning. As this grew from the newspaper to becoming solely a wedding photography business, the stories only grew richer. Think about eating a flavorful, but decedent chocolate cake. (#hearteyesforchocolatecake) With each year, each hug, each moment that was captured became encased into one single frame. Giving you all of the emotions in that moment that will remain timeless throughout generations.

As we grew together in this business, we began to see how connecting people through the stories of the photographs were so much deeper than anything else. New tears were brought to life as we saw the moments frozen in time in our hands. Our souls would be open up, barring all of the emotions out to others. Our why is to connect people to moments that intertwine us into their stories. To go beyond the surface, but to see their heart, mind and soul behind the glossy or matte finish.

Cameras come and go, years can zoom pass us, but these moments never cease. They never not exist. Have you ever gone to your grandparents house and see photographs of their grandparents hanging in the living room? Then when you ask about the photograph, they can recall every detail ever told to them about the photograph. It doesn’t just impact that generation, but the generations to come.

Now, we want to set you to do the same! Think about your WHY. You don’t have to be in the creative industry to have a why! When you write it all down, we would love to hear all about it! Click reply & type away! We can’t wait to hear from you soon!
