A French Twist To A Country Inn | Burke Manor Inn

I am honored to contribute to Michele & Sara’s blog page! I can honestly say I had no clue what might be of interest, but figured a little history about our fabulous property along with some personal background might be of interest. My husband, Lil, and I own the Burke Manor Inn & Pavilion. It is located in the heart of the small and charming town of Gibsonville. Quick history: The house was designed and built in 1906 by Textile magnate Caesar Cone of Cone Mills. It was purchased in 1911 by J.W. Burke. The family owned it for four generations. In 1999 the Brady family purchased it and opened the home as an Inn on Christmas day. The Inn is named in honor of its previous, long time owners, Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Burke, who were outstanding citizens in our community, county and the state of North Carolina. We realized our lifelong dream of owning an inn and took ownership of the Burke Manor on January 21, 2011.

We previously owned Saint Jacques French Restaurant in Raleigh, #1 Restaurant in Raleigh on Trip Advisor since 2010 until we sold it in July 2015. We knew we wanted to continue to bring authentic French cuisine to North Carolina and the Inn now “fit” our food and service style. We opened “Saint Jacques @ The Burke Manor Inn” which allows our dinner guests to have an intimate and personalized dining experience, whether they are staying with us or not. We have been honored with the recognition from AAA Four Diamond restaurant for the past three years, and still strive to deliver an amazing dining experience. Now, we have had the opportunity to bring this food quality and service to the Pavilion for all our events hosting at the Burke. Our guests are amazed at what we can create out of our little kitchen!

We have fulfilled our desire to create a “get away” which combines exceptional accommodations, food and service. The Inn showcases luxurious amenities with some modern enhancements, while still maintaining the privacy and personalization of an elegant Inn. We have taken it to the next level and create an amazing venue for weddings and receptions. Our little compound fulfills so many couples’ dreams for their special day in our garden and Pavilion.

Lil, being from France, has always had the ultimate “server’s soul” and a love of cooking. His remarkable taste buds and cooking techniques have elevated us to another level. Since I grew up in Las Vegas, and worked on Cruise Ships for 11 years I have had the opportunity to experience many different requests and needs within the hospitality industry. I am a true planner and feel a sense of pride when putting all different kind of events together. With our combined backgrounds in the hospitality industry, we are adamant about ensuring satisfaction with all aspects of the Inn, whether it’s an overnight stay, dinner or a wedding and reception, our one true desire is to please the guests and guide them through a wonderful experience.

We have had the pleasure of working with Sara and Michele on many occasions, and LOVE when our couples tell us they are their photographers! They have captured amazing pictures of the Inn, Gardens and Pavilions and are always so gracious and professional. The pictures they have shared with us always astound us.

We are so excited for another year, creating some fabulous food, stays and memories!
