It has been a crazy time since the relaunching our new brand on June 21st! Sara and I photographed two incredibly beautiful weddings (Erin & Connor | Ally & Rocky) back to back! Now that we are in the heat of summer (literally!), we thought it was the perfect time to share a little bit of fun facts with our readers.

My grandparents came from Italy on a boat through Ellis Island. My father was born in America and that makes me a second generation American Italian. Finding my grandparents name in the registry at Ellis Island was really something special. We traveled to Italy last year where I was able to not only meet my father’s side of the family but to see the church were my grandparents were married!
I love dogs (cat’s too)! Our first dog was a German Shepherd name Sable. I was just 5 when we got her. Since that moment I have always had an animal in my life. Currently I have 3 dogs, all senior’s. Sweetpea is 14, Lady is 12 and Jake is 10!
My husband can put a couch in a room and leave it there for years. Me? Oh, I need to continually change it up! Hint: that is what is happening this weekend at the house!!
God has surely blessed my family with artistic ability. My mother made some of the most beautiful clothes. She made Sara many sun dresses, all which she designed by hand. My sister Ida was an interior designer and my sister Karen can take any piece of trash and make a treasure. My niece Jennifer works in the movie industry and performs comedy. Sara is a photographer, loves to draw, create journals, and decorating.
When Matthew and Sara were small our favorite thing to do was to go swimming at my mother’s house. From the time they were wee little ones (3 months old) they were in the pool. Grandma couldn’t resist buying them all the neat things to have in the pool like Shamu the (inflatable) Dolphin. If you could not find us at the pool then we were at the beach. Now you know why Sara love’s the beach so much!

My favorite memory of growing up in a large Italian family was all of the cooking during the holiday times. Matthew, my Grandfather and I would spend time making homemade sausages for Christmas! Michelle and my Grandmother would make homemade ravioli as large as a small child hand. No seriously, they were huge! The cooking festivities would begin a week out from the holiday and it always marked a special time in our house.
When I was a little girl I loved hats! There is a book of photographs of just me wearing all different types of hats – Fireman hats, hard hats, baseball caps – you name a hat and I probably wore it!
Kayaking is one of my favorite ways to spend my time in the open outdoors. It wasn’t until the year before last before I realized on what I was missing out on! I am so excited that this weekend I am hitting the kayak again with some sweet friends!
May 2014 was an exciting month for everyone as the time between graduating from UNC to walking down the isle was only two weeks apart, literally! We also celebrated Mother’s Day on our graduation day as well.
If I am craving a really unhealthy snack, you will probably see me reaching for the white cheddar popcorn. Oh my goodness, it is cheesy and crunchy all in the same bite! I believe that I have eaten just a bag by myself once or maybe it was with a friend! #ilovewhitecheddarpopcorn
