Before we get into this amazing Botticelli Inspired Styled shoot, we must put the credit where credit is due. We truly could NOT have created the photography magic that we did without the amazing creative team behind it all. A gigantic thank you to Megan at Hosea House Collective who was the stylist and creative director of this shoot – she seriously creates pieces of beauty.

We asked Megan to give us a little insight into the idea of the session and this is what she had to say…
“I cry at art museums. Whether I am moved to tears by the subject matter (like the work of Kara Walker) or I come face to face with a piece I have seen in countless textbooks–I am a sucker for art and, more importantly, what it can do. When I stepped around the corner in the Renaissance Wing of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and was confronted with Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, I was amazed. From the color palette and textures to the mythology behind the painting, I felt honored to be in the presence of such a work.
When it came to planning a styled shoot with some of my very favorite collaborators, the vision was clear–we were going to bring the painting to life. With the ethereal gowns, elegant lifestyle portraits, incredible florals, and the coral chair to mimic the painting’s shell, this shoot was an absolute dream. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed designing it.” -Megan
