A Sweet Spring Engagement Session at UNC Chapel Hill

Ever since we started photographing this engagement session, we have been DYING to post!! Johnna (pronounced like johnny, but with an a!) & Brennan are our gorgeous October couple and they are just the sweetest!! While walking around the UNC campus, we got to know more about them, how they met, and how they both work with each other! Brennan and Johnna are defense attorneys that work in the same office and love it! They both met while she was interning at the office where they both work at now. Brennan was working full time and he convinced the boss to hire her full time….well that is his side of the story! 😉

Johnna, just like Sara, is an alumni of UNC Carolina! So the campus made a perfect background for when Brennan proposed to Johnna at the kissing bench! We asked why he proposed at the kissing tree and he told us the cutest story!! Johnna told Brennan all about her time spent on the campus. The old tales that students always love to hear, especially about the kissing bench (aka, Davie Poplar)! The story about the Davie Poplar tree is that as long as that tree stands, the University will stand! In the ’70s it was struck by lightning. From that day, the school hollowed it out, filled it with cement, and cabled it to the next tree over! Now, the tree is very important to the school and its students! However, underneath the tree is a stone bench! Yes, stone!! And the story connected to that bench is, that if your sweetheart kisses you (or you kiss your sweetheart) on the bench below the Davie Poplar, you’ll marry that person! Brennan remembered that story Johnna told so when they were both on campus, going from one place to meet up a group of friends, Brennan swept her over to the bench, proposed, and kissed his soon-to-be bride!!
